Two suspects arrested for Isla Vista robbery
ISLA VISTA, Calif. - Two people were arrested on Friday for the robbery of an Isla Vista home on Monday.
The Santa Barbara County Sheriff's Office said 21-year-old Heyaw Meteke of Isla Vista was arrested for robbery and false imprisonment. Another Isla Vista resident, 21-year-old Jawad Hebbar, was arrested for accessory.
Both suspects were arrested Friday late afternoon and are being held at the Santa Barbara County Jail.
Meteke's bail is set at $100,000 and Hebbar's bail is set at $20,000.
These arrests were the result of a search warrant served in the 6700-block of Del Playa Drive by Sheriff's Office Detectives for the Monday robbery.
The robbery was reported around 10:20 a.m. on Monday at the 6500-block of Sabado Tarde Road.
When the police arrived, they found two victims who reported that they had been robbed at gun point inside their residence by three suspects that morning.
One of the victims had minor injuries, but did not require immediate medical attention.
Police said the suspects stole two laptops, a cell phone, a wallet and an unknown amount of marijuana.
Police are continuing to investigate the incident and will provide more information as it becomes available.
