Oxnard man sentenced to six years for possession of child pornography
VENTURA, Calif. -- An Oxnard man was sentenced to six years in state prison for possession of child pornography.
Gary Daniel, 41, of Oxnard was sentenced to six years in state prison for his possession of child pornography at a time he was required to register as a sex offender.
The Ventura County District Attorney's Office made the announcement Thursday evening.
Daniel was found guilty on October 2, following a five-day jury trial.
Back in July 2018, Daniel was released from Missouri state prison.
In August 2018, Daniel moved from Missouri to Oxnard and was placed on parole.
In November 2018, Daniel's parole officer and members of the Santa Paula Police Department searched his residence to ensure he was complying with parole conditions.
During their search, officers found child pornography on his cellular telephone.
A forensic search of the cellular phone confirmed Daniel's possession of child pornography.
District Attorney's Office Fraud and Technology Crimes Unit with assistance from the Santa Paula Police Department completed this case.
