5.5 Magnitude earthquake strikes near Ridgecrest

 RIDGECREST, Calif. - A 5.5-magnitude earthquake hit near Ridgecrest on Wednesday evening, according to the U.S. Geological Survey.

The temblor was centered approximately 10 miles south of Searles Valley and at a depth of nearly 4.3 miles, around 6:32 p.m.

No damage due to the earthquake has been reported.

Some people in Ventura County reported feeling the shaking.
