Santa Barbara Airport Launches New Program for Travelers with Hidden Disabilities

SANTA BARBARA AIRPORT

SANTA BARBARA, Calif. (KEYT) — Holiday travel can be overwhelming, especially for passengers with disabilities that aren’t immediately visible.

Santa Barbara Airport is highlighting an international program designed to make flying easier for travelers who may need extra support.

Through the Hidden Disabilities Sunflower program, passengers can pick up a free sunflower lanyard to discreetly signal to airport employees that they may need additional assistance or time.

The program helps travelers communicate their needs without having to repeatedly explain their disability, creating a more welcoming airport experience.
