What to know about the death of a woman who was set on fire in a New York City subway train
NEW YORK (AP) — The man arrested on murder and arson charges in the death of a woman who was set on fire inside a subway train has another court hearing scheduled. Sebastian Zapeta was arraigned this week and has a second court appearance set for Friday. Police say surveillance video from Sunday morning showed a man calmly approach the woman aboard a stationary train at the Coney Island-Stillwell Avenue station in Brooklyn and then set her ablaze. Zapeta was taken into custody later that day after police received a tip from a group of teenagers. Authorities have not yet publicly identified the victim.
