CONCORD, N.H. (AP) — Democrats have maintained their dominance in New Hampshire’s congressional delegation. U.S. Rep. Chris Pappas defeated Republican Russell Prescott to win a fourth term in the 1st District, and former White House aide Maggie Goodlander defeated Lily Tang Williams to win the open 2nd District seat. The 1st District, which covers the eastern half of the state once was quite politically volatile, with party control flipping multiple times. The 2nd District has been in Democratic hands since retiring U.S. Rep. Annie Kuster won the first of her six terms in 2012. Neither of the state’s U.S. senators, both Democrats, were up for reelection.
