3 killed and 2 injured in shooting near University of Cincinnati campus, police say

CINCINNATI (AP) — Three people were fatally shot and two were wounded near the University of Cincinnati campus. Police say two people were taken into custody early Monday, including one of the wounded. A Cincinnati police captain says officers were in the area when gunshots rang out about a half-mile from the campus. Officers found four males who had been shot. A fifth person went to the hospital on his own. Police say multiple firearms were recovered at the scene. The university’s public safety department had posted online about the shooting shortly before 3 in the morning. Later, an “all clear” message was sent.
