In a first, Vice President Harris tours Minnesota clinic that performs abortions

ST. PAUL, Minn. (AP) — Vice President Kamala Harris has toured a Minnesota Planned Parenthood clinic that performs abortions and provides other reproductive care. Harris’ office says it’s the first time a president or vice president has been to a reproductive health clinic. Thursday’s visit is part of Harris’ election year focus on the rollback of abortion rights across the United States. Democrats hope the issue will spur voters to reelect President Joe Biden. Harris began a nationwide tour in January to draw attention to the fallout after the Supreme Court overturned its landmark ruling that legalized abortion nationwide. Although Democrat-run Minnesota has been unaffected, the ruling cleared the way for Republican-led states to enact limitations or bans on abortion.
