Ventura County Fire begins rainstorm recovery

VENTURA, Calif. - As the water recedes, many roadways throughout Ventura County still have water pooling on or flowing across the surface.

Fire crews with the Ventura County Fire Department says use caution when approaching these areas.

Brian McGrath of the fire department says Highway 33 above Ojai remains closed.

Although the roadway may seem passable, water caused structural damage to many roadways in the area.

Caltrans District 7 says the right lane of SB Route 1 (PCH) is closed from Calleguas Creek to Sycamore Canyon Road in Ventura County due to storm-related erosion.
