Gold Coast Transit District supervisors end strike

Gold Coast Transit District supervisors strike comes to an end after 13 days on the picket lines

OXNARD, Calif.-A Gold Coast Transit District supervisors strike has come to an end.

Supervisors and their supporters walked a picket line near GCTD in Oxnard for almost two weeks.

It was the first strike of its kind in the bus service's history.

Teamsters said they just agreed to a new contract that includes their first raise in years.

"Friday evening 17 brave supervisors voted and ratified that tentative agreement, the strike is over, the supervisors received a fair and equitable contract, everybody is back to work," said union representative Jed Johnson of Teamster Local 186.

Teamsters and Gold Coast Transit District resolved their difference on Friday night.

Workers said the strike did not impact bus rider safety.
