Elderly woman dies following crash in Oxnard
OXNARD, Calif. -- An 84-year-old woman died in a car crash in Oxnard on Friday evening.
At around 4:43 p.m., Oxnard police responded to reports of a car crash on H Street at Holly Avenue.
At arrival, officers and EMS personnel found a Toyota Tacoma and a Dodge Durango involved in a crash.
In their investigation, they found that the Dodge SUV was traveling north on H Street when the Toyota truck, traveling west on Holly Avenue, entered the intersection. The SUV crashed into the truck.
The drive of the Dodge SUV was identified as a 40-year-old Oxnard man, he had minor injuries and later went to Community Memorial Hospital for medical treatment.
The driver of the Toyota truck was identified as an 84-year-old Oxnard woman, she sustained critical injuries and was transported to Ventura County Medical Center where she died from her injuries on Sunday.
Investigators say drugs and/or alcohol do not seem to be a factor in this crash.
The investigation is ongoing.
