Ventura teen arrested in connection to series of Ojai park vandalisms
OJAI, Calif. - Ventura County Sheriff's deputies arrested a 14-year-old boy in connection to a series of vandalisms that occurred at two Ojai parks in May.
Deputies said they have seen an increase in vandalism in the City of Ojai in the months approaching summer.
On May 21, Ojai Patrol Deputies were reportedly dispatched to several vandalisms at Ojai Skate Park and Libbey Park.
Investigators said they received a report around 5 p.m. that same evening of a teen boy vandalizing city property using a paint marker.
Ojai deputies responded and linked the teen to the previous vandalism at the skate park and two vandalisms at Libbey Park.
The boy, a resident of Ventura, was arrested at the scene and released to his guardian.
The sheriff's office said these cases will be presented to the Ventura County District ATtorney's Office and the Ventura County Probation Department for filing consideration.

The sheriff's office said graffiti and other vandalism can be an eye sore and result in thousands of dollars in damages per incident.
