Santa Barbara men arrested for selling narcotics to Ventura County residents
SANTA BARBARA, Calif. - Two Santa Barbara men were arrested by sheriff's deputies this week for selling narcotics in Ventura County.
The suspects were identified by detectives from the Ventura County Sheriff’s Office Narcotics Street Team after they concluded a narcotics investigation on Wednesday.
On Oct. 3, patrol deputies assigned to the Ojai Police Station conducted a traffic enforcement stop of a vehicle for speeding in the area of Baldwin Road and Old Baldwin Road in the unincorporated part of Ventura County.
The driver was identified and his vehicle was investigated after deputies found probable cause to search inside of it.
During the search, deputies said they found a large quantity of marijuana packaged for sale, TCH vape pens and evidence of marijuana sales.
The driver was cited and released for misdemeanor possession of marijuana for sale and the transportation of marijuana.
Deputies then contacted detectives with the Narcotics Street Team to continue investigating.
On Oct. 7, detectives and patrol deputies assigned to the Ojai Police Station obtained a search warrant for the suspect's home in Santa Barbara.
Detectives also identified an associate of the suspect who allegedly was also involved in narcotics sales.
Later that same day, detectives conducted a traffic stop on the suspect's vehicle in Santa Barbara. Inside, they found the suspect and his associate.
During a search of their vehicle, detectives found a large quantity of marijuana packaged for sale, TCH vape pens and psilocybin mushrooms.
The detectives then arrested both men and performed a search at their residence.
The search yielded more narcotics and a large sum of money. In all, detectives seized 1,130 grams of marijuana, 103 THC vape pens, 140 grams of psilocybin mushrooms, 398 Alprazolam pills and approximately $14,000 in narcotic sale proceeds.
Both men were booked at the Pre-Trial Detention Facility on various narcotics sale charges. They were both released on bail and are awaiting criminal proceedings.
