‘Sundays with the Symphony’ brings virtual concert to music fans

SANTA BARBARA, Calif. - Once a month during the coronavirus pandemic, the Santa Barbara Symphony is taking it's talented musicians and students to a worldwide audience, online.

'Sunday's with the Symphony' returns August 23 with a live stream performance showcasing the symphony, guest stars and students.

“No large gatherings of course has impacted our industry tremendously so we have to find ways to stay connected and that means virtual content,” Santa Barbara Symphony Music and Artistic Director Nir Kabaretti said.

Students receive a virtual violin lesson.

The symphony and its education programs forced to get creative and take everything virtual. Students taking classes via zoom. And the orchestra individually recording sections of music then editing them together to make it sound like a normal ensemble.

'Sunday's with the Symphony' is a free live stream and kicks off at 3:30 p.m. on Sunday.
