Police arrest three gang members, cited one minor in Oxnard
OXNARD, Calif. -- Oxnard Police Department arrested three gang members for multiple charges in Oxnard on Tuesday afternoon.
Police arrested Steve Perez, 19, Oxnard for evading, possession of a stolen vehicle, hit and run and resisting arrest. Police also arrested passengers Brayer Aceveda, 19, Oxnard and Lorenzo Garcia, 20, Ventura County for possession of stolen property and delaying/obstructing a peace officer. Police cited a 16-year-old female for violating her probation.
At around 1:25 p.m. Tuesday, officers from the Special Enforcement Unit attempted to conduct a traffic stop on a vehicle for a traffic violation at Kentia and Indigo in Oxnard.
The driver failed to yield and a pursuit began.
The pursuit went south on Lantana and then west on Bluebell where the pursuit concluded.
All four of the occupants fled and the driver failed to put the vehicle in park, allowing the vehicle to collide with a parked, unoccupied vehicle.
All the occupants were apprehended after brief foot pursuits.
A records check on the vehicle, a black Nissan Rogue, revealed that the vehicle was reported stolen from the City of Oxnard.
Perez, Aceveda and Garcia are all documented Oxnard criminal street gang members.
