Salvation Army kettle stand stolen at post office
SANTA MARIA, Calif. - A Salvation Army kettle stand was stolen in Santa Maria this Wednesday morning.
Administrators are now concerned about potential imposters.
They said in their six years of serving Santa Maria, they’ve never had a kettle stand stolen.
Patricia Torres with the Salvation Army has filed a police report.
Torres said the kettle was taken off the stand the night before, so no
money was taken.
But she's concerned that someone who is not affiliated with the
Salvation Army could be ringing the bell with the kettle stand and
collecting money.
“We feel sad but at the same time we’re not going to allow that to rob our
joy in being able to bless our needy families here in Santa Maria,” Torres said.
Torres said the postmaster is in the process of getting the surveillance
video of the incident.
