San Luis Obispo Sheriff’s deputies arrest high risk suspect in Santa Margarita
SANTA MARGARITA, Calif. -- San Luis Obispo Sheriff's deputies arrest a suspect in Santa Margarita during a high-risk search warrant on Wednesday morning.
They arrested Max Aaron Gerarden, 28, of Santa Margarita for aggravated mayhem, kidnapping, false imprisonment, battery with serious bodily injury, inflicting corporal injury to spouse or cohabitant and threatening to commit a crime of violence.
On Wednesday morning around 6:00 a.m., deputies from the Sheriff's Special Enforcement Detail served a high risk warrant at a home on the 4100 block of Stagecoach Canyon Road in rural Santa Margarita.
Deputies located Gerarden and he fled the location in his vehicle.
Deputies pursued Gerarden with assistance from a California Highway Patrol airplane.
After five minutes into the pursuit, Gerarden exited his vehicle at Goldie Lane and began running onto a property.
Deputies searched the property, located Gerarden and took him into custody.
In the same location, deputies found another wanted suspect Daniel Jay Romero, 26, of Santa Margarita.
Deputies took Romero into custody for violating his post release community supervision on an original charge of assault with a deadly weapon.
The investigation is currently ongoing.
