Power out in parts of Nipomo
(Update 5:15) A PG&E Spokesman said crews on site safely restored power to all customers at 5:00 p.m.
Officials tell our newsroom a car versus pole crash knocked down a wire in the area of Hutton Road and Joshua Street.
Power was shut down for just under two hours.
(Original Story) About 2,000 customers in Nipomo are without power late Thursday afternoon.
KCOY 12 Central Coast News has reached out to PG&E to determine the reason for the outage.
A PG&E spokesman said the outage is not due to a Public Safety Power Shutoff the electric company has performed in other parts of the state due to threat of fire.PG&E is currently in the process of assessing the cause at the outage location.
The power was initially reported out at 3:14 p.m. and is expected to return at approximately 6:15 p.m.
The outage is listed as far south as Highway 166 and to the north of the Los Berros Road/Thompson Avenue on and offramps.
