San Luis Obispo approves third commercial cannabis permit

The City of San Luis Obispo approved a third commercial cannabis permit.

Officials say Natural Healing Center, LLC, can now open a retail storefront business.

The city rejected a retail storefront application for Elemental Wellness, but that company can reapply.

The first two cannabis permits were approved in September.

“We appreciate the cooperation of all of the applicants as we have worked our way through the approval process,” said the City’s Economic Development Manager Charlene Rosales. “The standards we have in place were established through a collaborative process with the City and community. They’re designed to help ensure permitted cannabis businesses are set up for success in our city.”

San Luis Obispo’s commercial cannabis law allows up to three retail storefronts.

There is no limit on non-storefront businesses like delivery, cultivation, and more.

Businesses that get permits have to reapply every year.

New permit applications can be filed in January 2020.
