Police search Ventura High after social media threat
Police spent Sunday night searching the campus of Ventura High School after a threat posted on social media.
The Ventura Unified School District posted a message to families and parents on Facebook about the potential threats. The district says a bomb threat was made to the VHS Associated Students Instagram account Sunday. Police were immediately notified.
Officers with the Ventura Police Department searched the campus Sunday night and the all-clear was given early Monday morning.
Police don’t believe there is an immediate or ongoing threat to the campus, students or staff. School will be in session Monday. School district officials say additional officers will be on campus along with the school resource officer.
Families can expect a recorded phone call from school officials at 6 a.m. Monday morning explaining the situation.
