Crews respond to vegetation fire near Tepusquet road in Santa Maria
Santa Barbara County Fire Department responded to a vegetation fire in Santa Maria Saturday.
It happened just before 5 p.m. on 4535 of Tepusquet Road.
The fire grew to about five acres.
No injuries were reported and no structures were threatened or damaged.
Forward progress was stopped later in the day but firefighters remained on scene overnight and throughout the following day to make sure no sparks start up.
Officials say the cause of the fire is under investigation.
