Woman who embezzled from Atascadero High School booster club sentenced to jail, probation
A woman who embezzled over $30,000 from the Atascadero High School Band and Pageantry Booster Club has been sentenced to 180 days in jail.
Sherry Gong pleaded guilty in August after she was accused of stealing $32,554 between July 2017 and April 2018 while working as treasurer of the organization.
In addition to her jail sentence, Gong will have to pay back all the money she stole and will be placed on probation for three years.
Gong is the wife of San Luis Obispo County Clerk- Recorder Tommy Gong.
