Woman found beaten along train tracks in Santa Barbara, police looking for suspect

Santa Barbara police are looking for at least one person who attacked a woman and left her badly injured along the railroad tracks in Santa Barbara.

Police got the call from a person who found the woman just after 9 a.m. Wednesday.

Officers and medics arrived at the scene and immediately transported the unidentified woman to Cottage Hospital with serious injuries.

The apparent attack happened along the railroad tracks near Bath and Montecito Streets, not far from the Santa Barbara train station.

Train service was disrupted for part of the morning but has since resumed.

Police say they are looking for a person who assaulted the woman with a deadly weapon.
