Firefighters put out brush fire that threatened homes near Paso Robles

Firefighters responded to a vegetation fire near Paso Robles Friday afternoon.

The fire broke out around 3 p.m. on Deer Creek Way near Weeping Willow Way.

CAL FIRE responded to the scene to find two acres of grass burning at a moderate rate of spread with structures threatened.

CAL FIRE said the fire had the potential to grow to five acres.

By around 3:45 p.m., the fire was contained and firefighters shifted focus to mop up duty.

Aircraft were called off and no structures were damaged.
