Woman’s Club of Arroyo Grande awards scholarships
The Woman’s Club of Arroyo Grande awarded $12,500 in scholarships to 15 local students. The students were recognized along with their families at the club’s annual scholarship luncheon Friday.
Some students are graduating high school seniors, and others are current college students receiving continuing scholarships. Awards range from $500 to $1000 each. The Woman’s Club hosts various fundraising events throughout the year in order to award the scholarships.
2019 scholarship recipients are:
Luis Jazo, a continuing scholar at UC Berkeley studying Molecular Environmental Biology.
Nathan Severance, a Nipomo High School student who earned the Performing Arts Scholarship. He performed a beautiful piano piece at the luncheon, and plans to study Communications and Media Composition (music).
Julia Boersma, a continuing scholar studying Business Administration at Cal Poly
Ashlie Andrade, a Nipomo High School student with plans to major in Political Science.
Jhoana Salguero, a Cuesta College student studying Nursing.
Steven Dykstra, an Arroyo Grande High School student preparing to study International Humanitarian Law.
Andrew Davies, a continuing scholar at Cal State Long Beach studying music. He plays the cello.
Casey Crouch, a continuing scholar at UCLA studying Political Science.
Dustin Adkins, a San Diego State student studying Economics and Sociology.
Joseph Kullman, an Arroyo Grande High School student headed to Cal Poly to study Business Administration.
Alexia Zarate, an Arroyo Grande High School senior has received a Visual Arts Scholarship.
Madrid Holland, a Nipomo High School senior with her sights set on becoming a neurosurgeon.
Sage Whitman, an Arroyo Grande High School senior has received a Visual Arts Scholarship.
Henry Silberberger, an Arroyo Grande High School senior planning to study Political Science or English.
