Four transported to hospital following multi-vehicle crash in Santa Maria

Four people were taken to the hospital with minor injuries after a multi-vehicle crash in Santa Maria on Monday.

Four vehicles were involved in the collision on northbound Highway 101 at Broadway at around 7 a.m.

One person needed to be extricated from their vehicle.

Santa Maria Fire Department, ambulance and California Highway Patrol responded to the scene. Traffic was backed up for a period.

CHP is investigating the cause of the crash.
