Santa Barbara man caught with almost a pound of cocaine in Ventura

A Santa Barbara man was arrested after he was caught with almost a pound of cocaine in Ventura Tuesday.

According to the Ventura County Sheriff’s Office, detectives arrested 40-year-old Abraham Arellano following a two-month narcotics investigation. Detectives found just under a pound of cocaine and paraphernalia in his truck in Ventura Tuesday, and later found large sums of cash at his home in the 500 block of West Pueblo Street in Santa Barbara.

Detectives determined the cash was proceeds of cocaine sales, detectives said.

Arellano was arrested and booked at the Ventura County Main Jail for possession of cocaine for the purposes of sales.

Arellano posted $50,000 bail and is scheduled to return to court on March 15.
