Oxnard police arrest 2 known gang members

The Oxnard Police Department arrested two documented gang members Friday evening.

Police responded to the 300 block of Cuesta Del Mar at around 8:50 p.m. for a report of people drinking and disturbing.

When police arrived they saw multiple people loitering around a parked car. When the subjects saw police offices, many of them fled the area.

One man that fled was detained by a police officer. He was identified as Adrian Cuen, 21, of Oxnard. Cuen was arrested for resisting a police officer and for violating the conditions of his post-release community supervision.

A second suspect was located in the parked vehicle. He was identified as Ramon Aguilar, 21, of Oxnard. Aguilar was on probation for firearms and drug offenses. Officers searched the vehicle and found a loaded 9mm handgun.

Aguilar was arrested for possession of a firearm by a prohibited person, which is a felony.

Oxnard police say both Aguilar and Cuen are documented gang members.
