Police in San Luis Obispo ramp up patrols on Super Bowl Sunday
If you plan on celebrating Super Bowl LIII, San Luis Obispo police are warning and encouraging fans to be responsible.
“Millions of people will be watching the Super Bowl at parties and bars across the country,” Sgt. Robert Cudworth said. “Don’t put others at risk because you chose to break the law and drive impaired.”
According to police, they will be staffing additional officers to look out for impaired drivers.
They are also reminding the public “DUI Doesn’t Just Mean Booze.” Prescription pills and marijuana can also lead to DUI, police said.
Police warn even one drink can be one too many, and they encourage you to have a designated sober driver, use a ride-share company, or call a taxi if you drink on Sunday.
