Second teen charged with the murder of a Santa Maria man
A second teen has been charged with the gang murder of a Santa Maria man.
Santa Barbara County District Attorney Joyce Dudley announced today that felony charges have been filed against another teen for the fatal shooting of Saloman Morales-Robles.
Morales-Robles was shot multiple times on Nov. 2, 2018, in the 1200 block of West Bethel Lane at around 11:30 p.m.
Police were later called to another disturbance in the 1900 block of South Ybarra around 12:07 a.m. where they found two more gunshot wound victims. Those victims would both survive unlike Morales-Robles died on scene.
Three minors were taken into custody that night. One of them was arrested for homicide, attempted murder, firing a handgun causing death, and gang enhancement.
Thursday’s announcement revealed this second teen who is 17-years-old will be charged in both of the shootings. He is charged with murder, two counts of attempted murder, and that the offenses were committed to benefit a criminal street gang.
The teen was scheduled to be in juvenile court today for arraignment.
