Old Town Coffee opens in Goleta

Coffee lovers have another reason to rejoice, especially if they live in Old Town Goleta. Old Town Coffee opened on Saturday and handed out free cups of joe for everyone who showed up to their opening day.

Owners Tim and Racheal Ward say everything from the coffee to the decor is local to Goleta and Santa Barbara.

“We have the only roaster in Santa Barbara that is local and that is Rise Coffee, which is a brand new coffee roaster locally,” said Tim.

People who came out to the opening day of the new coffee shop got a complimentary cup of coffee provided by Rise Coffee Roasters.

“Basically what we are trying to bring is good quality, specialty coffee at a little bit more affordable rate for your average consumer, your worker, your average joe, but also good quality stuff for those really connoisseurs that love their good coffee,” said Dennis Medina, co-owner of Rise Coffee Roasters.

Old Town coffee has everything a coffee lover would want in a small town coffee shop; great atmosphere, a huge patio that is dog-friendly, an internet bar, and space that fits more than a hundred people.

“Our location is in Old Town, there are no other coffee houses in Old Town and this area needed it,” said Tim.

The owners of Old Town Coffee say they are committed to serving the students they know will need a little ‘pick-me-up’ during finals and midterms week.

“During midterms and finals week for students we are going to be open for 24 hours, so that’s our plan,” said Tim.

Old Town Coffee is located at 5877 Hollister Ave, Goleta, CA, 93117.
