San Marcos basketball star Jackson Stormo commits to Pepperdine

San Marcos High School basketball star Jackson Stormo texted KEYT Sports to say that he has committed to Pepperdine University.

On choosing Pepperdine Stormo texted, “They have a great new coach, Lorenzo Romar, who has many years of experience at a very high level, as well as extremely talented players and a very good coaching staff. Not to mention how good of a school Pepperdine is, or how gorgeous and close to home the campus is.”

The 6’9 center led the Royals to the program’s first ever CIF-SS championship earlier this month.

He was named the CIF Division 2A Player of the Year.

The dominating center averaged nearly 18 points and over 12 rebounds per game as San Marcos won the CIF-SS Division 2A championship beating Riverside Poly in the title game 67-47.

Behind Stormo, San Marcos went on an 18 game-win streak to start 2018 and the Royals did not lose until the second round of the State Playoffs in Division 2.

San Marcos finished its historic season 27-7.
