Yellow Tape Project puts new spin in crime scene caution tape

Activists handed out yards of yellow tape to people who wanted to do more than carrying signs during the March for Our Lives event in Ventura on Saturday.

They are part of the grassroots Yellow Tape Project awareness campaign. The tape reads “Act Now and End Gun Violence.”

Supporters said they are advocating for responsible gun laws by putting a new spin on yellow caution tape used at crimes scenes including high schools where school shooting occur.

They want people to tie yellow tape around their trees homes, and fences to remind people that voting for people willing to support gun laws.

They want to do their part to end gun violence on school campuses and elsewhere.

Mary Jo Healy of Washington, D.C. and Ojai gave some out on Saturday in Ventura’s Plaza Park.

“The Yellow Tape Project is the symbolism of having to end this gun violence, all across the nation people are holding this up that no school should be a crime scene, this is crime scene’s tape, let’s stop this, let’s stop the gun violence,” said Healy.

She said people can buy the tape at http://www.yellowtapeproject.com.
