Santa Maria drug trafficking bust sends two to jail

A drug bust in the Santa Maria Valley sends two men to jail, accused of trafficking methamphetamine.

On Tuesday, the Santa Barbara County Sheriff’s Special Investigations Bureau Detectives executed a search warrant at a home in the 1300 block of Solomon Road. Two men were taken into custody along with over an ounce of methamphetamine, according to SIB detectives.

21-year-old Zachary Lockett, of Santa Maria, is charged with possession of methamphetamine for sale, and was also taken into custody for an outstanding probation warrant. 63-year-old Gavin Schwartz was charged with possession of methamphetamine for sale.

Both men were booked into the Santa Barbara County Jail. Bail has been set at $100,000 for Schwartz, while Lockett is being held without bail.
