Santa Barbara Contractors Association ready to help Montecito homeowners

When Montecito Union School teamed up with the Santa Barbara Contractors Association for an event to help homeowners on Tuesday night only a few homeowners showed up.

Bill Holmes of Bill Holmes Construction said homeowners may be waiting out the next storm.

“I think they need help and direction and to get a grasp on what happened to them and then what they need to repair without just jumping into it, ” said Holmes.

SBCA members plan to hold another event and they want people to know they can watch videos of many of the members online at http://sbcontractors.org

Members have a wealth of information that can save mudslides survivors time and money.

Dain said he had a client who was offered $75,000 to settle a claim.

Dain created a spreadsheet that showed the homeowner would need $275,000 to rebuild.

“We do background checks on all of our members yearly and make sure they have insurance and licenses,” said James.
