Wine fundraiser underway at Arnoldi’s to help firefighters

Community support for firefighters is coming in with a special wine event at Arnoldi’s Cafe in Santa Barbara.

The owners have a two day special underway with glasses of wine being served for $1-dollar each.

It’s part of the citywide effort called the 12 days of Gratitude.

Arnoldi’s lost 15 Christmas parties during the holiday season but the owners say the work of the firefighters both locally and from out of town saved the community from devastation.

Arnoldi’s has been at 600 Olive Street since the 1930’s and it is one of the oldest restaurants in Santa Barbara.

Owner David Peri said, “I woke up and thought we have to do something for the 12 days of Gratitude because I want to see it promoted more.”

Many local residents packed the restaurant Wednesday night including Mayor Helene Schneider to support the effort.

Donations will go to the Firefighters Alliance which funds equipment that is not always funded in the annual budget.
