Therapy dogs visit Thomas Fire command post

Therapy dogs visited firefighters and first responders at the Ventura County Fairgrounds Wednesday.

Two organizations from the Alliance of Therapy Dogs traveled from the Antelope Valley to bring some smiles to those who have been away from their family for the holidays.

Pet handlers say the dogs help first responders de-stress. Michelle Clifton and her Labrador retriever named Titan, have been working in pet therapy for over six years.

She says there is no better feeling than stepping in during a time of need.

The Alliance of Therapy Dogs is a completely volunteer run organization.
