What a rush! DP’s run to D10 CIF title game fueled by a strong running attack

Ground and pound.

Dos Pueblos head coach Nate Mendoza won a CIF title as a hard-nosed linebacker at Lompoc in 2002 and his Chargers team is a throwback. DP plays tough defense and they love to run the football.

The Chargers have rushed for over 3100 yards behind a massive offensive line, several blue-collar running backs and an athletic quarterback.

Erick Nisich, Nathan Beveridge and Angel Flores anchor an experienced offensive line and all three of those players weigh 275 pounds or more.

Running backs Eric Lopez and Rob Alfaro along with senior quarterback Jake Ramirez have all gained over 600 yards rushing on the season.

DP is riding a school-record 12 game winning streak as they enter the championship game Saturday night at Quartz Hill.

The Chargers have never won a CIF championship in football.
