Santa Barbara police request public’s help solving theft, home burglary cases

Santa Barbara police are seeking community help to identify two suspects as they investigate two separate crimes that occurred within the city of Santa Barbara.

The most recent crime happened at the YMCA located at 36 Hitchcock Way on Nov. 17. Authorities released a photograph of a man suspected of stealing a wallet and a cell from the YMCA.

Police allege the suspect used the victim’s credit cards at several retail stores in the area soon after the theft occurred.

No further details were immediately known.

Police are also investigating a home burglary that occurred on Nov. 5 in a neighborhood on El Arco Drive during the early morning hours. Two photographs were released to the public by authorities showing a man suspected of the burglary arriving and leaving in a green and white dirt style motorcycle.

Investigators believe the motorcycle was possibly a Kawasaki brand based on the coloring.

Anyone with information on the identities of the suspects in each of these cases or information about the crimes is asked to call SBPD Detective April DeBlauw at 805-897-2327 or email adeblauw@sbpd.com. Anyone wishing to remain anonymous may call the SBPD Tipline at 805-897-2386.
