Police investigating stabbing at Ventura Promenade

Ventura police are investigating a stabbing attack that occurred at the Ventura Promenade shortly after 2:30 a.m. Wednesday.

Police said the victim was taken to Ventura County Medical Center with a stab wound to the torso, but was uncooperative with police in their investigation.

Police identified the victim as 20-year-old Ventura resident Andrew Hurns.

Investigators said there was possibly an altercation on the promenade between Hurns and the suspect before the stabbing occurred.

Ventura police do not have a working description of the suspect but ask anyone with information about this crime to call Sgt. Cain at 805-339-4488.
