Ventura hosts Amgen for first time, Santa Barbara County hosts finish

Ventura will host Stage Two of the 13th annual Amgen Tour of California for the first time, while Santa Barbara County was named a finish host for the race.

The Amgen Tour of California will take place May 13-19, 2018 during which the world’s best cyclists will compete for approximately 600 miles along roadways, highways, and coastlines — from Long Beach to Sacramento.

Stage Two will begin in Ventura on May 14 and will finish on Gibraltar Road at La Cumbre Peak in Santa Barbara County before cyclists continue their journey up north. This marks the ninth time — and sixth year in a row — Santa Barbara County has taken part in hosting the Amgen Tour.

The Amgen Tour of California Women’s Race will run concurrently May 17-19, covering upward of 150 miles over three stages.
