Fun with the Force raises money for items not in Santa Barbara Police Department’s budget

A Fun with the Force fundraiser in Summerland on Sunday afternoon raised more than $300,000 for the Santa Barbara Police Foundation.

The money may be used for things that are not covered by the department’s budget.

Foundation Vice President Eric Phillips said the event gave people who donated a chance to see what officers and K9s do.

They also had a chance to check out the gear they use everyday.
