Santa Barbara police asking public’s help finding men linked to grand theft cases

The Santa Barbara Police Department is requesting the community’s help to identify and locate two men they said may be connected to several grand thefts in the city.

Both men were captured on surveillance video. Investigators said the thefts occurred at A-OK Power Equipment on Milpas Street. One crime happened on Aug. 18 while another occurred on Aug. 21.

The first individual was seen wearing dark clothing and a black hat. The other was seen wearing an orange vest, dark sunglasses, and blue-colored shirt and pants. Police said this person left the area in a newer black, 4-door Chevrolet Silverado.

The car had a modified exhaust and tinted windows, according to investigators.

Police do not know if the two men were working together but are asking the public to call either Detective April DeBlauw at 805-897-2327 (adeblauw@sbpd.com) or Detective John Thompson at 805-897-2325 (jthompson@sbpd.com) with any information regarding this case.
