Marine’s memorial in Ventura followed by funeral in Santa Paula on Saturday
Staff Sgt. Robert Cox was one of 16 people killed in a Marine transport plane crash in Mississippi on July 10.
The body of the Ventura-born Marine was flown to Los Angeles last week.
His memorial took place at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in Ventura on Saturday morning.
His funeral followed at Pierce Brothers Santa Paula Cemetery.
People lined the streets to pay their respects.
His family released homing pigeons during the service with full military honors.
