Two dogs saved from house fire near Carpinteria
A housekeeper helped save a Carpinteria home and two dogs Tuesday morning.
Flames were shooting from the home on the 3100 block of Serena Avenue when the housekeeper showed up.
Fire crews from the Carpinteria – Summerland Fire Protection District arrived and saw flames shooting from the roof just after 9:30 a.m.
Incident Commander Michael Gallagher of Carpinteria-Summerland Fire Protection District said, ” we had active fire in one interior room and it appears as if the fire had gotten through the interior and on to the roof the problem there is we have vegetation close to the structure and that had to be knocked down before it got into the wild land.”
Firefighters quickly put the fire out and saved two dogs. Investigators are trying to figure out what started it.
