KCOY 12 transmission site affected by PG&E planned power outage

PG&E is replacing a power pole near Tepusquet Peak, which necessitated a planned outage Tuesday afternoon. Because KCOY 12’s backup generator shut down, the main transmission facility is off, affecting over-the-air viewers.

Cable and Satellite providers are not impacted by the outage.

In a separate incident on Broadcast Peak, KEYT is also off the air due to a planned outage allowing tower crews to install a new antenna for a local radio station.

The two outages are not related. PG&E expect power to be restored at Tepusquet Peak by 3:00 p.m. Tuesday. KEYT’s transmitter should return to the air by 5:00 p.m.
