KEYT transmitter to be shut off while crews install new antenna

Our KEYT transmitter on Broadcast Peak will be shut off beginning at 7 a.m. Tuesday, June 27, while crews install a new FM antenna.

Work already began Monday and is expected to continue until Wednesday.

A local radio station that shares the same tower is replacing its antenna. For the safety of their crew, the KEYT transmitter will be powered off.

During the outage, viewers who receive KEYT and the NOW Channel over-the-air will be impacted. Also impacted–viewers that receive our over-the-air signal from Cuesta Peak in San Luis Obispo County.

This planned outage should not impact any viewers on satellite or cable systems, including Ventura which regularly takes the fiber feed of KEYT from Spectrum Charter.

KCOY 12 and KKFX Fox 11 will not be impacted.

Crews are expected to complete work on or before 4 p.m. every day they are working.
