Santa Maria Elks Rodeo Queen crowned

Five young ladies spend months raising money for local organizations and charities and it’s all capped off when one of them is crowned Queen of the Santa Maria Elks Rodeo.

That moment happened Friday evening.

Madison Hall will wear the crown this year. She raised nearly $290,000.

Madison was sponsored by VTC Enterprises , which offers a wide range of services to people with disabilities who desire training or assistance in areas related to employment and daily living.

VTC Enterprises has sponsored three winning queen candidates in a row.

The queen contest has raised a total of $11 million for the community’s youth for the past 73 years.

This year, the five contestants raised a total of $573,000.
