SLO police release arrest numbers from busy St. Patricky’s Day weekend

The San Luis Obispo Police Department released their total number of arrests and citations issued during a busy St. Patrick’s Day weekend.

The police department was at maximum deployment on March 17 and March 18.

St. Patrick’s Day is traditionally a busy time in the city. A strict enforcement policy was in place to ensure the safety of the community and to minimize disruption to the downtown businesses.

2017 saw a very minor increase in arrests and a slight decrease in citations from the 2016 tally.

32 arrests were made in 2017 versus 31 arrests in 2016. 22 citations were issued in 2017 compared to 32 total for 2016.
