Gauchos Optimistic About Nelson
UCSB Head Coach Andrew Checketts texted KEYT Sports and said his fingers were crossed but he felt star reliever Kyle Nelson’s injury was not serious.
It looks like a flexor tendon strain in his forearm but the lefty was going to undergo some tests today.
Nelson hurt himself while pitching on Wednesday for Team USA against the Santa Barbara Foresters. Nelson will not pitch anymore this summer for Team USA.
